The European Individual Chess Championship 2022 opens today and takes place from 26th March – 6th April in Terme Catez, Slovenia.
The European Individual Chess Championship 2022 is a qualifying event for the FIDE World Cup 2023. According to FIDE regulations for World Cup and the ECU Board decision, 20 players will qualify.
320 players coming from about 40 European federations registered for the event, among whom are 114 Grandmasters, 53 International Masters, 3 Women Grandmasters, 12 Women International Masters and in total 257 titled players.
